Our High Desert Climate

  • Embrace the sunshine: Albuquerque enjoys abundant sunshine year-round, with an average of 340 sun-drenched days annually.  A good pairing with all the sunshine is an abundant amount of sunscreen, lip-balm, and moisturizer too!
  • May Magic: In May, expect comfortable temperatures averaging 72°F highs and 48°F lows. We recommend dressing in light layers. Business casual is appropriate for the conference and activities. Sweaters / light jackets are recommended for cooler evening temperatures.
  • High Desert-High Altitude: You're arriving at a city sitting at 5,312 feet above sea level. At this elevation, the air is thinner, and you may become tired faster during physical activity. Albuquerque's high desert climate also causes people to dehydrate faster. It is important to drink a lot of water to keep your body hydrated; this is the easiest way to avoid altitude sickness.  Watch out for signs like headaches, nausea, fatigue, and shortness of breath.
